Emirates non-stop flights to Perth go daily from May 15

  • PRESS RELEASE

Passengers and cargo customers alike will benefit from greater choice when Emirates increases its flights between Dubai and Perth in Western Australia from four times weekly to daily, starting Thursday May 15.

The extra flights provide capacity for 900 extra passengers per week and an additional 45 to 50 tonnes of cargo.

Emirates currently operates non-stop flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Ghaith Al Ghaith, Commercial Operations Director, said that the increase in flights to a daily service within nine months of the route launch was a result of strong demand.

"In recent weeks, inbound and outbound demand has led to Emirates speeding up its Perth expansion plan. Now we will commence a non-stop daily service on May 15. These additional flights will assist the tourism and travel industries by providing extra capacity in time for the busy summer season."

This expansion of its Perth services means that Emirates will fly daily to three Australian cities - Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, a total of 21 flights weekly. On 26 October, a fourth city will be added when daily services start between Dubai and Brisbane.

Flights to Sydney and Melbourne are currently routed via Singapore, but, in a further development, flights between Dubai and Sydney will become non-stop on 26 October when Emirates introduces the new ultra long range Airbus A340-500 aircraft on the route.

The additional flights will operate at the same times as the current ones. Flight EK430 to Perth departs Dubai at 02.35 hours, arriving in Perth at 17.25 hours. The return flight EK421 departs Perth at 22.30 hours, arriving in Dubai at 05.40 the following morning.

Emirates currently flies to 64 destinations in 45 countries in the Middle East, Far East, Europe, Africa and Asia-Pacific. This year, the airline starts new services to Moscow, Shanghai and Lagos (subject to Government approval), in addition to Brisbane.
