- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai 2003 is using an exhibition it is holding at the prestigious International Investment Summit (IIS) as a platform to promote the opportunities Dubai 2003 will offer for future inward investment into the United Arab Emirates.
It gives the UAE and the whole Arab world an unrivalled opportunity to showcase what the region has to offer prospective investors and international business partners in all areas of commercial activity.
Dubai 2003 General Coordinator, Mr. Ibrahim Belselah, said: "We have given our support to the International Investment Summit as an event that reflects our objectives at Dubai 2003 to use the Annual Meetings as a global window to generate investment and fresh economic activity within both the UAE and the whole region.
"Our presence at the Summit gives us a valuable opportunity to promote the Annual Meetings to a distinguished and influential international business audience and encourage their full participation in September and highlight the business networking opportunities this global event represents."
The exhibition at the IIS is the latest in a series of major regional and international events being supported by Dubai 2003 to promote the Annual Meetings to the widest possible public and private sector audiences.
Dubai 2003 is hosting the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund and is overseeing the introduction of the highly complex logistical framework required to ensure the success of such a global event.
The Annual Meetings will be held in the Dubai International Convention Centre that can accommodate 4,500 delegates for the Annual Meetings, 6,000 delegates for usual convention events and up to 15,000 people standing for other events.
The Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund were first held in Washington DC in 1946. They are hosted by an international city one year in three. Dubai and the UAE were selected because of its highly developed transportation and logistics infrastructure, growing importance as a financial hub and its established position as an oasis of opportunity.
