- PRESS RELEASE
The British University in Dubai (BUiD) - a private, not for profit university - has launched a website (www.buid.ac.ae) designed to keep prospective students informed about its courses, focusing initially on Masters in Informatics degree programmes.
At the sessions and open evenings, a senior representative of the School of Informatics from the University of Edinburgh - one of the world's top research universities and the lead university in BUiD - will be presenting details of the Masters in Informatics courses and attendees can also learn more about the University itself and talk to the representatives.
Meanwhile, visitors to www.buid.ac.ae can also learn more about the courses that will be offered, as well as the BUiD campus at Dubai Knowledge Village, information about living in Dubai for those students based outside the UAE, and even find out about entry requirements.
The British University in Dubai will be the region's first research university and will, in effect, be twinned with the UK's top universities specialising in a variety of distinctive disciplines and designed to complement the UAE higher education system.
BUiD will make a distinctive contribution to the higher education system in the UAE. It will be a research-based post-graduate institution, able to offer a wide range of opportunities for graduates, and pursuing research relevant to industry and public policy in the UAE.
The University's license to work in the field of higher education is under review by the Ministry of Higher Education. The University's academic programmes are under review by the Ministry of Higher Education and are not yet accredited.
