Toshiba launches smaller and more energy-efficient Bluetooth card

Toshiba, the world leader in mobile computing, has produced a new Bluetooth card that gives instant access to the Internet via a mobile phone, as well as wireless file-sharing and printing capabilities.
The new card conforms with SDIO Card Type-B and Bluetooth version 1.1 specifications. Its advanced features include up to 50 percent reduction in power consumption, a flat profile and a 9mm reduction in package size.
"The card requires minimal set up time and enables professionals and consumers alike to turn any notebook or Pocket PC into a Bluetooth-enabled device," said Ahmed Khalil, regional manager of Toshiba Middle East's computer systems division.
"Whether streamlining business applications or enriching their computing experience, wireless products enable our customers to enter the next era of mobile computing."
The card features new Bluetooth software with a number of improvements such as advanced Microsoft operating system support for pocket PC and Windows versions; enhanced profile and device support; easy connection and set-up using Bluetooth settings; simplified device management and improved graphical user interface.
