- PRESS RELEASE
HP today announced its latest entry-level workstation, the Intel® Pentium 4-based HP Workstation xw4100, which is designed to provide customers with computational and visualization performance, reliability and support.
The device's innovative convertible mini-tower and tool-less chassis are designed to provide mechanical computer-aided engineering (MCAD/CAE), digital content creation (DCC), geographic information systems (GIS) and finance customers with the flexibility they need for their work environments. The versatile chassis allows the HP xw4100 to go easily from deskside to desktop and improves serviceability and heat management. The workstation also features a convenient front-access input/output panel and two USB v2.0 ports.
The HP Workstation xw4100 delivers optimized performance and reliability with professional OpenGL and multi-display 2D graphics and application certifications for entry-level 2D and 3D MCAD and 2D animation, video editing and publishing users.
"HP workstations are intelligently engineered for high reliability, which should allow for excellent application performance while providing exceptional return on investment," said Thomas Greve, Desktops and Workstations Category Manager, Personal Systems Group, HP Middle Eastt. "The HP xw4100 delivers on that promise by offering customers unprecedented value and performance without compromising reliability."
The HP Workstation xw4100 builds on HP's industry lead in workstation performance set by the HP Workstation xw5000. The HP xw4100 takes uniprocessor compute power to the next level with faster processor front side bus speeds, greater memory bandwidth and Intel's Performance Acceleration Technology.
The HP xw4100 supports Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional and Windows XP Professional, while support for the Red Hat Linux operating system is expected to be available in June.
