Qatar Airways to fly to Rome from June 16

Rome is to become the 41st destination for Qatar Airways, one of the world fastest-growing airlines, when the Qatari flag carrier launches flights to the Eternal City next month.
"Rome is a natural extension to our existing Doha-Milan service," explained Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive Officer, Qatar Airways. "With its huge touristic draw, Rome will shortly feature prominently in the upgraded offerings of Qatar Airways Holidays. The launch of this new destination is also well timed to take advantage of the Gulf's approaching summer vacation season."
On Mondays and Wednesdays, Qatar Airways' will fly non-stop Doha-Rome with the aircraft then continuing its journey to Milan before returning to the Qatari capital.
On Fridays and Sundays, Qatar Airways will fly direct to Rome via Milan.
Qatar Airways will typically use a twin-engined, wide-bodied Airbus A300-600R aircraft on its Doha-Rome route, with 224 seats in a three-class configuration. The service will have 12 seats in First Class, 18 in Business Class and 194 in Economy.
Qatar Airways currently flies to 40 destinations throughout Europe, the Middle East, Far East, North Africa and the Indian Sub-continent. The carrier plans to operate to 50 destinations by the end of this year.
Qatar Airways is also planning to increase its fleet. It presently has 21 Airbus aircraft, which will increase to 28 by the end of this year.
Qatar Airways also operates a number of subsidiary companies, including: Qatar Aviation Services, Qatar Aviation Catering Company, Qatar Airways Holidays, Doha International Airport, and Qatar Duty Free.
