Sabre Travel Network showcases at Arabian Travel Market
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, May 07 - 2003 at 11:36
- PRESS RELEASE
Sabre Travel Network, a world-leading GDS (Global Distribution System) reservations system, is being showcased to the travel trade during Arabian Travel Market (ATM), taking place at Airport Expo in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, between May 6 - 9, 2003.
"In so doing, the solution improves the efficiency of travel agency operations and enables them to serve their customers extremely cost-effectively."
Previously marketed in the Middle East by Gulf Air under the name Falcon Travel Information System (FALCON), the new and re-branded solution now functions as a standalone business unit of the national airline of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
Among the new features are a vastly upgraded helpdesk facility and a network of field engineers located throughout the Middle East to provide rapid and responsive technical user support.
One of the most attractive members of the product suite, which is being promoted during ATM is 'Turbo Sabre sm'. Innovative by design, it offers a unique functionality through its ease of use to simplify the way in which the reservations function is handled and managed within a travel agency environment.
"Turbo Sabre' demystifies the reservations process and minimises training requirements on the operation of the system, since it makes the need for long strings of reservations code previously required obsolete. This results in faster customer processing time and an ultimately improved sales conversion rate," added Mr Buali.
More than 800 travel agencies currently subscribe to the Sabre GDS throughout the region. This is set to increase as Gulf Air will soon begin aggressively marketing Sabre Travel Network region-wide, and in particular to travel agencies in Kuwait once the market is liberalised.
"We see a huge potential from the travel industry in Kuwait once the market becomes liberalised and the offer of Sabre Travel Network in the country will ensure the travel trade has a preferential choice in their selection of reservations systems," added Mr Buali.
