This infrastructure will provide advanced Internet applications within the hotel, beach and spa and will cover a combined area of 37,000 m˛.
The solution, which was deployed by the Kuwait Danish Computer Company (KDCC), will enable guests to access the Internet and other Web-based services using four different connectivity channels. These include a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) deployed on the resort's beaches, restaurants, spas and within 133 chalets and rooms. KDCC has also deployed Dial Up and Ethernet connectivity and an interactive television solution which will provide sophisticated entertainment services and high-speed Internet access.
Julai'a is well known as a 'get away from it all' destination frequented by affluent Kuwaiti families and business people. It is located to the south of Kuwait City on the azure coastline of the Arabian Gulf. Kempinski is a German Hotel Chain which has been operating in Europe for over 105 years. It opened its Julai'a resort in February of this year.

This made KDCC and Cisco the perfect partners for the ongoing success of the Kempinski in Kuwait.'

'Internet access and wireless technologies are not only necessary for offering the highest service levels today, but they are also essential for the roll-out of future applications. By deploying this modular and scalable solution, Kempinski are now able to adapt to market forces and rapidly offer new products to supply customer demand.'
Kuwaiti Danish Computer Company (K.D.C.C) was established in 1976 to provide the Local and Gulf market with a complete turnkey solution. KDCC has since grown into a profitable multimillion dollar turn over company.
'The hospitality industry provides great scope for the development of new services based on an IP infrastructure,' Raed Omari, Operations Manager at KDCC. 'Hospitality is an important sector for KDCC and the Kempinski project is a case study example of how hotels across the region should be planning for the future success of their business.'
Amongst the Cisco solutions that have been deployed in the network include Cisco Catalyst switches, Aironet Wireless LAN solutions and Pix firewalls. Over twenty engineers were involved in the project which took three months to complete.
