Acclaimed Acer notebook PC arrives in the UAE

Acer, one of the world's top ten branded PC vendors, has announced the launch of its award-winning notebook PC - the TravelMate 800 - in the UAE and across the Middle East.
Using the latest Intel Centrino mobile technology, the TravelMate 800 has been praised for its top performance and long battery life. Within a week of its global launch in March, it has already received awards for "Best Performance" (CNET), "Gold Award" (PC Advisor), "Editor's Choice" (ZDNET) and "Best Buy" (Laptop).
"We are delighted to be bringing such innovative technology to the UAE, and are confident that the global acclaim the Acer TravelMate 800 has thus far received will be echoed in the region," said Krishna Murthy, General Manager, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd.
"This top-of-the-range notebook PC is designed to provide performance, portability and powerful battery life to mobile users around the world, and will provide customers in the UAE with an invaluable tool," he added.
Experts have already said that the TravelMate 800 stands in a class of its own for mobile performance. By deploying Centrino chip, which is specifically designed for wireless and mobile computing, the notebook PC is capable of matching the power and utility of the newest generation of desktop computers in a fully portable format.
There has also been praise for the TravelMate 800's attractive design, solid build and extensive feature set, which includes built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It also offers a SmartCard reader, good security and full manageability for corporate customers.
