Dubai 2003 Organising Committee approves final design for commemorative monument

The Organising Committee of Dubai 2003 discussed the preparations being made for the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund in Dubai in September at their weekly meeting held at the state-of-the-art Dubai International Convention Centre.

The meeting, which was chaired by Mr.Mohammed Ali Alabbar, approved the final design of the monument to commemorate the Annual meetings. It will be set up in front of the Convention Centre, which is the venue for the prestigious event.

The Committee also discussed the social and cultural programmes that will be held on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings, to showcase the development of the United Arab Emirates since it became a Federation under the leadership of The President, His Highness, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Members also discussed the medical clinic that would be established to provide emergency medical aid in addition to the excellent medical facilities and services that would be available throughout Dubai. They also underlined the importance of providing a TetraSystem network as a means of communication for members of the Transport and Medical Committees.
