Visitors to the exhibition, which is located on Level 2 (Glass Bridge) of BurJuman, can find out about the expansion project from several displays featuring the floor plans and artist impressions showing the exterior development and interior of the retail area of the new mall. Two models of the project are also on display.

A member of the customer service staff from BurJuman is also at hand to explain the various landmarks that will be built during the expansion. The exhibition, which is open from 10:00am to 10:00p.m., will be on till mid-June.

The BurJuman expansion will almost treble the size of the existing shopping area and also include a luxury residential complex and a 22-storey office tower. The massive development has entered its final construction phase with the retail section set to open by mid- December this year.

Currently, the mall is home to many prestigious local and international brands, and the number of stores and cafes will increase from over 190 at present to approximately 300 after the expansion, including the famous SAKS Fifth Avenue that will anchor the re-developed BurJuman. Other world-class brands that will arrive at BurJuman include Hugo Boss, Fendi, Alfred Dunhill, Christian Dior, Chanel, Prada, Van Cleef & Arpels, Rolex, Omega, Tag Heur, BCBG, Loewe, Burberry, Etro, Hermes and Tommy Hilfiger, among others.

Mr. Eisa Adam Ibrahim, General Manager of BurJuman, said: 'With just months to go before we open the retail section of the project, we think this is an appropriate time to give our shoppers and visitors the opportunity to see first-hand for the first time the model of the project and artist impressions. As the mall is a favourite of residents and visitors from across the world, we want to use this event to highlight the scale and scope of our expansion, and the fact that it will elevate BurJuman from its present position as the region's premier shopping complex to a total destination.

He added: 'We are encouraged by the initial response to this exhibition. We are confident it will create tremendous interest among shoppers, and particularly those engaged in the retail, real estate, construction and tourism sectors. This new landmark of Dubai will further enhance the emirate's position as the regional hub for shopping, trade and tourism'.

When completed the entire BurJuman project will have an area of 4.4 million square feet. The 22-storey office tower that will be built as part of the expansion will include state-of-the-art offices, a hi-tech business centre, a 20,000 sq ft exclusive conference hall, Internet facilities, cafes, a fully equipped gymnasium and other sports facilities while the residential complex will comprise 163 luxury furnished and semi furnished apartments in addition to a block of serviced luxury apartments.
