Dubaiquiz.com to host Samsung c:\brain challenge in UAE

Dubaiquiz.com, the pioneer in quiz competitions, has announced its plans to host the 'Samsung c:\brain challenge' in the UAE on the 5th of June 2003, at the Holiday Inn Bur Dubai.

The first ever industry specific quiz challenge is sponsored by Samsung Electronics and will be hosted by Siddhartha Basu, the inimitable host of BBC's Mastermind challenge. The Samsung c:\brain challenge is primarily targeted at IT professionals and is open for participation to all IT and non-IT companies in the UAE.

Having been voted as the 'Number 1 IT Company' in the world in 2002 by BusinessWeek magazine, we are proud to be initiating a first-of-a-kind IT quiz challenge in UAE that will test the knowledge of our professionals and foster a spirit of healthy competition in the industry."

"The UAE has always had a fast growing pool of IT talent and the 'Samsung c:\brain challenge' is an ideal platform on which to showcase this expertise," Mr. Vasudevan added.

The day long challenge, which is being hosted to further promote the adoption of information technology in UAE, is designed to bring together 500 key players from the industry for an evening filled with knowledge sharing and fierce competition.

"Following close on the heels of the very successful e-quiz, which is now on its third edition, Samsung c:\brain challenge for IT professionals is expected to attract keen interest not only from IT professionals but also from the general public whose lives have been touched by computers in one way or the other," said Jamshed Mehdi, CEO of dubaiquiz.com.

"The Samsung c:\brain challenge supports the thrust of the UAE government in encouraging its young people and local government departments to take up an interest in IT as a way of conforming with the requirements of the new global economy and competition," Mr. Mehdi added.

The Samsung c:\brain challenge will consist of two rounds with the new computer terminology expected to make up a large part of the competition questions. Round 1 will have a written test for all the participating teams and Round 2 will be the onstage final for the top six teams. There will be two participants in each team and the entry fee is USD 100/- per team. The last date for receiving entries is the 25th of May.

Total prizes worth AED 150,000 are on offer for the winning teams. It includes cutting-edge digital products from Samsung Electronics, cruises from Star Cruise, Tissot watches, IT education courses from NIIT, wireless kits from SMC, writing instruments from Cross, PDA's and mobile phones. In addition to this, special prizes will be given away to the audience at the Challenge. The travel partners for this event are Orient Travels and Indian Airlines.
