A detailed study of the project's requirements has already been conducted and development and implementation of the NTS system, based on the company's leading NTS Financials system, is expected to be complete in five months. Nabil Abdalla, General Manager, Arabian Ethicals Co., believes the new system will give the multimillion-dollar company a distinct advantage in an extremely competitive market.

'In a demanding marketplace customers place orders based on immediate delivery commitments. For this sales representatives need to check stocks for regular and fast moving items before picking an order. Customers need delivery the same or next day, sometimes in a just a few hours. Delays can result in loss of business to a competitor,' he said.

NTS Financials will transform the current paper-based processes by integrating the latest GPRS handheld terminals for sales force automation and RF-based handheld terminals to automate warehouse operations at Arabian Ethicals Co. The NTS system will assist the salesperson in checking availability of stocks. Based on orders received, stocks can be quickly identified in its physical location, then collected and dispatched. The system will also enable the effective management of damaged goods or products past their expiration date. The solution will result in superior and efficient service to Arabian Ethicals Co.'s customers, along with a better management of inventory in the company's warehouses.

This is Arabian Ethicals Co.'s second technology partnership with NTS. In 1999 NTS assisted in the transformation of Arabian Ethicals Co.'s backend financial operation, installing and implementing for the pharmaceutical distributor a financial management system - with the various modules implemented as part of its mid-sized ERP system. Intertec's demonstrated capabilities with this project, skills in integration and superior support are what led to its selection for the automation project, Abdalla said.

Naresh Kothari, Managing Director, Intertec Systems, said Arabian Ethicals Co.'s choice of Intertec, as its technology solutions provider for the second time is recognition of the company's commitment to delivering quality solutions and maintaining customer satisfaction on long-term basis.
