These cards can be linked to students' personal bank accounts and used for purchases worldwide. Phase I of the installation, which includes connectivity between buildings and at campus entrances, is complete. Phase II, deployment of the card terminals, will begin next year. The large project uses a wide variety of Leviton product solutions:
• QuickPort 1RU 24-port patch panels
• eXtreme CAT 6 UTP connectors, patch cords, and cabling
• Versi-Duct horizontal cable management
• Fast-Cure SC connectors
• OM2 (MM) 6-core fiber indoor/outdoor cabling
• French bezel QuickPort wallplate inserts
When complete, the project will be covered by Leviton's comprehensive performance warranty.
"We have tested Leviton's technology in a critical project: the most advanced RF [radio frequency] campus card system in the Middle East," says Ziad Eid, USEK's IT director. "It proved to be the best on the market."
