Users of LANDesk solutions in the Middle East span all sectors. They include the Directorate of Sharjah Town Planning, Abu Dhabi Police, the RAK and ARBIFT bank, the UAE ministries of Interior and Labour and Social Affairs, and the Omani ministries of Health and Finance, said Naresh Kothari, Managing Director, Intertec Systems.
Intertec's association with LANDesk started two years ago, at which time LANDesk existed as the software products and services division of Intel. Intertec had teamed up with Intel as the DVAR for LANDesk and later, after the LANDesk spin-off from Intel, became the Expert Solution Provider (ESP) for LANDesk Software in the GCC.
As LANDesk's partner for the region Intertec plans to take the product to end users in the territory in a focused marketing campaign, which will include road shows, seminars and event participation. The campaign is launched in the UAE with the two-day seminar, due to end today (MONDAY). The GCC region, as its most important market, is the main challenge for the sales team and over the next few months, similar events are expected to be held in Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Intertec, which has also initiated the creation of a reference site within the Intertec customer base with a view to pinpointing future LANDesk customers, will be concentrating its marketing efforts on the government, oil and gas, banking and finance and corporate sectors.
The development of Intertec's reseller network in the region is also a key component of the company's marketing initiative for LANDesk. The company hopes to recruit about 10 partners in its target region by end of this year.
'LANDesk has introduced a very flexible offering to this region and we aim to enhance its presence and market penetration through these initiatives,' Kothari said. Pietro Calderara, EMEA Regional Manager, LANDesk, said LANDesk® Management Suite (LDMS) V.7.0 represents a leap for both the company and the product. 'LANDesk is accelerating technology development and this product clearly shows our intention to be the best on the market.'
