The SPE Regional Honours and Awards Ceremony to take place alongside fifth regional SPE MEHSSE in Manama, Bahrain

The 2010 Society of Petroleum Engineers Regional Honours and Awards Ceremony will be held at an exclusive Gala Dinner on Monday, 4 October 2010, during the SPE Middle East Health, Safety, Security and Environment Conference and Exhibition (MEHSSE), Manama, Bahrain.

During this ceremony, regional awards in 9 categories will be presented to 13 recipients, recognising their outstanding professional and technical contributions that have advanced the profession and the petroleum industry in the Middle East.

The recipients were selected from more than 40 nominees by the 2010 SPE Regional Awards Committee, headed by the SPE Middle East Regional Director; Mrs. Hosnia Hashem, KOC.

The event occurs during the Regional SPE Middle East Health, Safety, Security and Environment Conference and Exhibition (MEHSSE), which takes place 4-6 October 2010 at the Gulf Hotel, Manama. MEHSSE takes place under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Abdul-Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Minister of Oil and Gas Affairs, Chairman of the National Oil and Gas Authority, Kingdom of Bahrain, with the theme 'Striving for HSE Excellence in a Changing World: Capacity, Energy Demand, Security, World Economy and Social Responsibility'.

MEHSSE brings together key oil and gas organisations in the region to discuss ways to strategically integrate HSE best practices into their business plans.

Leading organisations including Baker Hughes, BAPCO, Det Norske Verites, Fleet Management Solutions, Institute of Health and Safety, International SOS, Oil Spill Response, OPITO, Remote Diagnostic Technologies, SafeDrive International, Saudi Aramcoand Terralog Technologies are participating at the event and showcasing the newest innovations in HSE-related services, products and technologies for the petroleum industry.
