Inmarsat donates satellite terminal to Jordan's medical relief missions

Jordanian doctors leaving on mercy missions overseas to provide urgently needed medical aid to people suffering as a result of conflict or disasters are to have total communication access following a donation made to the team by Inmarsat Limited.
Inmarsat, a leading provider of global mobile satellite communications solutions, has donated the terminal equipment needed by the mission, as well as free airtime for the next three months. Yazan Hatamleh, regional business development manager of Inmarsat Ltd handed over Inmarsat's mini-M to the Eng. General Ibrahim Mohamed Al Maghayra, director general of Royal signal corps in the Jordanian Armed Forces. News reporters from war front lines have been using the Inmarsat network and devices to broadcast to the rest of the world news from the front line and aid agencies regularly use Inmarsat satellite phones to co-ordinate their aid activities.
"Inmarsat has been used for many years by aid agencies and authorities helping those suffering from disasters or wars, and we are delighted to continue this help by providing mini-M phones - the world's most popular satellite phone," said Samer Halawi, regional director of Inmarsat Ltd, Middle East, Africa and Central Asia..
