Cisco Systems & Telematics present the future of hospitality services
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, May 19 - 2003 at 13:27
- PRESS RELEASE
At the Hotel Show this week, Cisco Systems and Telematics are presenting their portfolio of innovative ICT solutions for the hospitality industry.
Cisco, alongside its Premier Partner, Telematics, will demonstrate the latest IP Telephony innovations developed to drive increased services, revenue generation opportunities, reduced cost of operations, and increased efficiencies. These will include XML-based applications that will enable guests to become self sufficient, ordering meals or accessing local information from the IP Telephone console. Interactive menus will reduce the need for person-to-person contact for smaller issues and give hotel staff more time to
manage more important enquiries.
"Cisco is committed to promoting growth within the hotel industry," said Jeremy Santiago, Channel Account Manager for UAE and Oman at Cisco Systems. "Hotels realise that to attract high value business customers they must offer first class service. This has led to significant interest in IP Telephony, Wireless Internet and also Long Reach Ethernet as methods of realising higher service quality and customer satisfaction."
Cisco and Telematics will also demonstrate how wireless Internet connectivity (WLAN) can add to both a hotel's service offering, and also increase productivity of staff. At the show, its team will demonstrate how the Cisco 7290 wireless mobile phone can keep staff connected to scheduling resources and the Internet from any location within the facilities. "As the tourism sector across the world faces increasing change, Cisco is committed to providing solutions to cater to hotel customer's needs while increasing efficiency and reducing operational costs," said Jeremy Santiago.
During the Dubai Hotel Show, Cisco and Telematics will demonstrate how a single IP-based network capable of delivering voice, video and data services, defining Cisco's AVVID (Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data) and SAFE blueprint architecture developed specifically for the hospitality industry, can deliver increased hotel employee productivity and expanded customer services in a scalable business solution.
Gordon Gibson, Sales Director for Telematics, added: "We are proud to be playing a leading part in this revolution of hotel services. Internet technologies will make a world of difference by enhancing guest services, generating new revenue, and creating opportunities for significant cost savings."
Visit Telematics and Cisco Systems at The Hotel Show located at Stand S1, West Side, Airport Expo Dubai. The Hotel Show is open from 11am to 7pm from the 19th to the 21st of May 2003.
