The new L3000A with 1280 x 1024 resolution, allows the user to programme settings for brightness and colour temperature that suit particular conditions or requirements - day/night, photo, movie and text.

'The addition of the new L3000A LCD TV/Monitor expands our family of LCD products and reaffirms LG's commitment to bring this advanced technology within average consumer range,' said Mr Michael Kim, Product Manager, LG Electronics Gulf FZE.

LG's new screen also benefits from a Digital Video Interface (DVI) allowing analogue and digital inputs from a PC to feed directly to the monitor without any disruption to image.

'Previously, analogue monitors had to convert digital signals received from PCs resulting in signal interference and loss of colour and shading,' said Kim.

'The new L3000A with DVI addresses this concern allowing high definition images making the screen suitable for graphics and CAD/CAM design.

'The new 30-inch also adds a fresh dimension to the regional LCD market by offering a large screen monitor with picture-in-picture functionality.'

Picture-in-picture (PIP) places the main input on screen with a small preview window showing the second input in one corner.

'When the second input needs to be enlarged, the viewer can remain in PIP mode and switch the two inputs around,' explained Kim.

LG Electronics now plans to bolster its marketing efforts in line with growing Middle East demand for digital products. The Korean giant is looking for a double digit increase in its monitor sales during 2003.

'LG will become the brand for high-end digital products by continuing to expand its Flatron range, further increasing its grip on monitor leadership in the Middle East,' added Kim.
