Doha Bank shares surge to 6-month high

Shares in Doha gained across the board, as the Qatar Exchange Index jumped 2.26% higher at 7,470.79 points. Bank stocks continued their rally as Doha Bank added 0.2%, closing at a six-month high at SR48.30. Qatar Exchange Management announced that the trading session of today will be carried out using the new trading system called Universal Trading Platform (UTP), which is also used by NYESE Euronext. The latter market took a 20% stake in Qatar Exchange for $200m in June 2009.
