Accor's charity clothes drive helps needy in the UAE

  • United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, September 07 - 2010 at 11:11
  • PRESS RELEASE

Accor team members in Dubai have shown that they have a big heart when it comes to helping people from disadvantaged backgrounds. In conjunction with Dubai Charity Association, all Accor hotels (Novotel & ibis Deira City Centre, ibis & Suitehotel Mall of the Emirates, ibis Al Rigga, Novotel & ibis World Trade Centre, ibis Al Barsha, Sofitel Jumeirah Beach Residence, Accor Middle East Head Office, Accor Academie Middle East, Pullman Dubai Mall of the Emirates) have together been actively collecting clothes during the holly month of Ramadan.

More than 28 boxes of aid were subsequently handed over to Hassan Madani, Executive Manager of Dubai Charity Association, last 26th August as part of the Association's Eid Clothes Project, which is designed to relieve the suffering of the orphans, widows, poor students and patients in the country.

"The satisfaction and happiness of doing something very simple but which helped others far less fortunate than ourselves filled our hearts in this holy month of Ramadan. I'd like to thank not only the Accor staff for the campaigning and collecting efforts, but everyone who donated items of clothing,"

said Stephane Del Prete, Director of Human Resources of Accor-MAF hospitality.

"As a result we have the feeling of achieving something great within ourselves. More importantly this is the springboard for more voluntary charitable work throughout the coming year," he added.

This programme is just part of a wide ranging Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme which Accor undertakes for common causes focusing on the environment, community and to society in general.
