Sharjah Museums Department to welcome visitors during Eid

Sharjah Museums Department (SMD) announced its family of 19 museums will welcome visitors, from the second day of Eid Al Fitr. The museums will observe holidays on 29th Ramadan and 1st Shawwal, while the management holidays will be from 29th Ramadan 1431 Hijri to 3rd Shawwal 1431 Hijri, resuming work on 4th of Shawwal.

Sharjah Museums Department, which aims to provide learning environments and works to promote tourism in the emirate, expects to receive visitors from UAE and all over the GCC during Eid.

A range of activities are being organized by the museums during the Eid holidays, including a number of educational and fun work shops at Sharjah Science Museum and Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization.

"We extend our wishes to all UAE residents on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr and look forward to welcoming guests who can enjoy a culturally enriching experience at our museums. All our museums will be ready to receive visitors through several activities and workshops that combine fun and learning," said Manal Ataya, Director General of Sharjah Museums Department.

The museums will provide visitors with access to its wealth of permanent collections covering Islamic art and culture, archaeology and heritage, contemporary art and many more. A dedicated team of museum staff will provide assistance and free guided tours to ensure that visitors receive the best quality of museum services and enjoy their experience.

Five major museums of Sharjah Museums Department will provide electronic data surveys that enable visitors to express their views on their museum experience and thus help the management to assess the views and incorporate them in future development plans and improvment of visitor satisfaction.
