Iraq invited firms to prequalify for Kurdistan water contract

Iraq has issued a request for qualification (RFQ) to contractors for two packages aimed at improving water supply infrastructure in the Kurdistan region, Meed has reported. The first package involves the expansion of the Erbil 3 water supply network and Duhok distribution network from 144,000 cubic metres a day (cm/d) to 240,000 cm/d and replacement of old networks, totalling 350 kilometres in some regions of Erbil city. The second package comprises the construction and improvement of the Halabja integrated water supply system and Sulaymaniyah distribution network.
