International exhibitors at Gulf Beauty to target niche spa market

The growing trend of establishing luxurious and up-to-date spas in the Middle East, which are targeted to both the sophisticated traveler, as well as customers with disposable incomes, will be a focal point during Gulf Beauty 2003.

Major European exhibitors are showcasing products and services to target this growing market sector during the exhibition.

'The high per capita incomes in the Middle East have created a major market for spas both as independent operations as well as part of resorts and hotel properties. At least eight countries in the region including Bahrain, Cyprus, UAE, Jordan, Oman and Turkey have spas. Exhibitors at Gulf Beauty will explore the prospects of this new 'cocooning' trend in the Middle East which has led to the opening of a number of such deluxe relaxation and rejuvenation centres,' said Daniela Rose, Project Manager, Gulf Beauty 2003, Epoc Messe Frankfurt.

International companies will showcase a range of products related to the spa industry at Gulf Beauty. These will include state-of-the-art spa equipment, skin treatments and skin care products, massage equipment and aromatherapy products.

'The spa industry which is an integral part of the beauty business has been witnessing a surge in popularity worldwide with studies estimating an average growth rate of approximately 19%. Today's spas offer a wide variety of techniques and services both traditional and modern, from the East and from the West - to meet the diverse needs of their clients including massages, facials, acupuncture, Dead Sea salt scrubs, mud wraps, thalassotherapy, aromatherapy, reflexology, microdermabrasion and endermologie. International beauty suppliers are increasingly focusing on products that appeal to this niche market and Gulf Beauty will be a good platform for them,' Rose said.

A range of spa-related products and services will be displayed at the exhibition. Inter-Beaute from France will introduce four new technologies at the show which will include a laser for progressive and definitive depilation, world exclusive equipment in skin abrasion without crystals and slimming equipments using either electrotherapy or depresso-massage treatments.

NeoQi multifunctional body care equipment from Estonia combines steam and infrared sauna, aromatherapy, music therapy, vibratory massage and hydromassage, which enhances traditional spa services. Esteteam, from Italy will present one of the most famous Swiss cosmetic ranges of products Cholley, for professionals looking for a high quality results for their face and body treatments.

Skin and body care based on active deep sea water substances has been the forte of Biomaris GmbH from Germany. Their intensive research has resulted in a well-balanced range of products for the holistic regeneration of the body. The company's product offering will cover all aspects of beauty care, wellness and thalasso therapy.

Janssen which is well-known in the cosmeceutical care business has a product assortment especially designed for the professional beauty therapists in salons or wellness spas and resorts. Their 'Secrets' series has a respected degree of acceptance among professionals in more than 40 countries of which 'Secrets of Paradise,' is the professional Spa Line.
