Microsoft Lebanon opens door to the IT event of the year

Following the worldwide launch of the Internet Explorer 9, Microsoft Lebanon kicked-off one the biggest IT event of the year, on Thursday 29th September at Biel.

The 2-day event took place in the Presence of Microsoft General Manager for NEPA (North Africa, Eastern Mediterranean and Pakistan), Lebanon Country Manager Ms. Leila Serhan and attended by over 1500 IT professionals and experts from all over the country.

The rich and new-technology laden event was an interactive and enriching experience for the hundreds of attendees. Microsoft, alongside Strategic partners Nokia, HP, Promethean and Temenos as well as leading Microsoft partners seized the opportunity to showcase the latest innovations in the industry ranging from mobile solutions, business applications and some of the most advanced hardware available in the market. Microsoft and its partners organized a series of live demos and presentations for experts and early adopters highlighting the company's "cloud computing" strategy, products and solutions for business and consumers.

With more people increasing need to be connected most of the time via mobile phones, PCs and laptops, cloud computing focuses on delivering software, computing power and services to online users using a variety of devices.

"The future of technology should be - Anytime Access - via powerful and interconnected devices and this is what cloud computing is all about," stated Leila Serhan, Microsoft Country Manager. "No matter what device people are using, Microsoft is the only company that is focused on providing the best productivity experience across the PC, the phone, and the browser."

"We are very happy to be here today at the Open Door event with IT and Telecom Leaders along with our solution partners to demonstrate to our customers how our technology and solutions can serve them in their organizations," Serhan added.

"Participating with Microsoft in the event emphasizes our joint vision on communication and mobility, delivering solutions that allow people to access information anytime and anywhere across many devices," said Thomas Rizkallah Nokia MEA, "The World is becoming more mobile, communication is not what it used to be, people need to connect on the plane, at home and on the beach and in the age of E-commerce, Email, growing internet usage and social networking, it is crucial for an organization to get on board the mobile highway and in this event we are demonstrating to many customers how leading Microsoft Solutions operate seamlessly on Nokia phones giving optimal communication solutions."

To conclude the exciting event, Microsoft ended the first day inviting the guests to a lively Laser show and party bringing the entire event to life and ended in the early hours of the night.
