Some foods may trigger Migraines

With summer around the corner people start planning outdoor barbecues; the American National Headache Foundation notes that some popular grilled foods may trigger migraines in certain individuals.

The organization suggests that those who experience recurring headaches keep a record of foods eaten before migraine attacks and remove them from their diet.

The following foods tend to trigger migraine headaches:

Meats: Processed meats such as hot dogs, summer sausage, salami, bacon, bologna and sausage.

Dairy products: Ripened cheeses such as Cheddar, Stilton, Brie and Camembert.
Other products: Broad beans, lima beans, snow peas, citrus fruits, avocados, red plums and bananas.

Grains: Sourdough bread, breads, and crackers containing cheese or chocolate.

Beverages: Limit caffeinated beverages such as tea, coffee or cola to two cups daily and especially avoid red wine.

Other foods: Chocolate, soy sauce, nuts, peanut butter and pizza.
