Lufthansa increases capacity to and from the United Arab Emirates

Mr. Uwe Wriedt, General Manager Passenger Sales UAE & Director Gulf, Iran and Pakistan commented, "Realising the increase in demand to and from the U.A.E., we are pleased to announce that the U.A.E. will now be served by daily flights to and from Abu Dhabi and that we will be reintroducing the high capacity 747 on routes to and from this market." He added, "This is a decision that not only improves the level of service to and from our capital and the U.A.E. as a whole, but also reiterates Lufthansa's commitment to this market."

This increase in capacity comes as a part of Lufthansa's strategy in the Middle East region, which it has been serving for over 40 years, where the number one European airline serves 12 destinations.

"Serving the U.A.E. for over 25 years Lufthansa has built up a strong position as one of the leading international and European airlines flying to and from this market. The introduction of these daily flights to and from Abu Dhabi along with the prescence of the Boeing 747 on the U.A.E. routes means passengers will have a greater opportunity to get connected with the rest of the world with Lufthansa," Mr. Wriedt added.

Lufthansa flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays will fly out of Abu Dhabi at 0055 hrs arriving in Frankfurt at 0715 hrs and flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays will depart from Abu Dhabi at 0010 hrs arriving in Frankfurt at 0645. This gives passengers an opportunity to avail of the comprehensive connections from the hub to various destinations around the globe. Departure times for Dubai will remain as previously scheduled.
