HP leads Tablet PC market in the Middle East and Africa

HP confirmed today its leadership in the Tablet PC market in the Middle East and Africa. Results are based on the release of Canalys Q1 03 figures.

HP's award-winning Tablet PC TC1000 stunned the market capturing 61% of the pie. Lagging behind was the next competitor at 33.6% market share. The Tablet PC TC1000's unique swivel-convertible design has landed it star status on a worldwide and EMEA level. EMEA figures for tablet PCs show a 67% market share for HP, with closest competitor following at 16%.

Christoph Schell, the general manager of the Personal Systems Group of HP Middle East said, " HP's Tablet PC sales in the region have surpassed our expectations since its launch into the market 6 months ago. We have enjoyed enormous success across the region, primarily in the health and retail sectors."
