Former headteacher of Jumeirah Primary School to lead new GEMS-managed school in Qatar

Jane Adams, former headteacher of Jumeirah Primary School in Dubai from September 1997 until June 2002, has been appointed headteacher of the RasGas Qatargas Al Khor International School, British Stream, in Qatar.

Both schools are managed by Global Education Management Systems GEMS, the Varkey Group's education management consultancy and systems provider.

"As the world becomes increasingly integrated, countries in the region such as Qatar have recognized the importance of developing knowledge-based economies. I am delighted to be working with Al Khor International School and GEMS to help our students be a part of this development," said Adams, who took a brief sabbatical following the end of her tenure at Jumeirah Primary School and will formally assume her new role this September. GEMS recently was awarded the management contract for the RasGas Qatargas Al Khor International school.
