Sahm to upgrade technology services for EMAAR residents

The move is part of Sahm's intention to continually enhance its services for EMAAR residents and build on existing service offerings. The new services will cover EMAAR properties such as Emirates Hills, Dubai Marina, Arabian Ranches, The Springs, The Meadows and The Lakes and will be deployed over an extensive Internet Protocol (IP)-based fibre-optic infrastructure, which is a first in the Middle East.

"Since its launch last year, Sahm Technologies' performance has been outstanding," said Arvind Bhatnagar, CEO of Sahm Technologies. The company is upgrading its satellite TV bouquet by adding a variety of new channels, increasing the total number of channels available to all Sahm subscribers to over 200. Sahm's telephony and internet access services are also being upgraded with many advanced features that go beyond the conventional expectations of in-home communications and entertainment.

"The 'smart home' is now a reality," added Bhatnagar. "Our subscribers can now enjoy over 200 cable TV channels, advanced telephony and the internet with the benefit of only having to deal with one service provider, which is both cost effective and convenient. In the near future, our subscribers will also witness the birth of many advanced features such as Video on Demand (VoD), Game on Demand (GoD) and interactive TV."

Sahm's concept of "facility roaming" plays a significant role in the new service offerings, in that they are available to subscribers using the same, single-point socket connection anywhere in the home. Subscribers can have one or more sockets in different locations activated throughout the home at their convenience.

The new state-of-the-art high bandwidth IP-based network on which the services will run will provide subscribers with high-speed access and an unparalleled quality of service. Moreover, subscribers will soon be able to access and control home appliances, from anywhere in the world, through the Internet.
