Germans flock to Dubai

Germans like the sun and they love sunny Dubai. More flocked to the emirate last year than ever before.

Dubai continues to be one of the favourite destinations for German holidaymakers.

According to figures released by Dubai's DTCM, out of 4,756,280 international visitors to Dubai in 2002, 171,140 came from Germany. This is an increase of 15.2 per cent as compared to 2001. In the first quarter of 2003, the hotels registered 42,700 German guests.

The DTCM has just published a German version of the up-dated 'Destination Dubai 2003' tourism handbook. It can be obtained free of charge via E-mail: dtcm_ge@dubaitourism.co.ae
