Knowing the effects of diabetes is crucial in understanding what diabetes is and how it can impact one's health in a number of ways. Disparate some other diseases, diabetes can affect many different parts of the body. Some people would say that diabetes is a disease that is multi-systematic. It can affect everything from the heart to the eyes. When the body is not able to convert sugars that are taken from foods into energy because of low insulin levels sugars build up in the blood causing elevated sugar levels. This elevation of sugar in the blood can affect a person's health greatly.

Hence surpassing the mark of support to shine in blue, Nakheel Retail encourages participations from people of various folks of life promoting the awareness.

The main sponsors for the event: Ibn Battuta Mall, Welcare Clinic Ibn Battuta, Fitness First Ibn Battuta, Ibn Battuta Pharmacy "Member of United Pharmacy Group" and Zest "Health Food" have join hands to offer the complimentary services and diabetes testing for all participants, including free blood sugar and body mass index checkup services along with a representative from Welcare Clinic educating participants on diabetes.
