Dubai Press Club partners with Media and Marketing Show 2010

The Media and Marketing Show 2010, the region's premier media and marketing event, is expected to feature an impressive list of participating media companies along with media buyers and providers altogether in a one-of-a-kind display for the latest industry initiatives, developments and technologies. In addition to the mammoth networking opportunities, MMS 2010 will also feature an ensemble of conferences and seminars focusing on the industry.

The sixth edition will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 13th - 15th December 2010 at the Sheikh Saeed, from 10.00 - 19.00 daily.

Maysoon A. Abulhoul, the Managing Director of Domus Group, organizers of the Media & Marketing Show, declared, "The sixth edition of the Media and Marketing show will once again solidify this event as a major key player in influencing the future of the media and marketing industry in the region. This year's show is a must for media and marketing professionals from across the globe."

During the course of the Media and Marketing Show 2010, a round table discussion group on 'Audience reaction to Middle East coverage by international Arabic-language media', will take place on the show's 2nd day at Rusiya Al-Yaum's stand. Rusiya Al-Yaum is the first Russian TV news channel broadcasting in Arabic and is widely recognized as one of the most influential television networks in Russia. Rusiya Al-Yaum was launched in May 2007 and is part of the RT News brand. RT News covers the major political, economic and cultural issues, with supporting analysis and documentaries. Rusiya Al-Yaum has an estimate of more than 5 million viewers in Syria, Kuwait, the UAE, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, according to a Nielsen market research study across these seven Arab countries in 2010.

Furthermore, leading experts, political scientists and media representatives will meet together during the MMS 2010 to discuss the new players who have recently joined the Middle East space. Top industry personalities will lead the debates and conferences, including, Abd al-Bari Atwan, the editor-in chief of the London-based pan-Arab newspaper Al-Quds Al-Arabi, Dr. Nabil Al Khatib, Executive Editor at the Al Arabiya channel, Dr. Naser Shrouf, Head of Distribution Africa/ Middle East at Deutsche Welle Arabic channel, Aydar Aganin, Director of Rusiya Al-Yaum and many others will be among speakers.

The Dubai Press Club will sponsor the Media & Marketing show's press center during the three-day event. Created under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and ruler of Dubai, the Dubai Press Club has endeavored to play a vital role in the growth of the regional media industry through the launch of unique initiatives such as the Arab Media Forum and the Arab Journalism Award.

Commenting on this sponsorship, Maryam Bin Fahad, Executive Director of Dubai Press Club, said, "The partnership between the MMS and Dubai Press Club completes a series of mutual efforts to support local and international media activities, and to offer an integrated media services, and has been focused on expanding its network with media organizations through closer relationships between MMS and the participating journalists."

She added, "Through our sponsorship of the media center, we can help provide the journalists with an easy access to use many of the offered facilities and we are going to do our best efforts to ensure the success of this important event."

Bin Fahd pointed also out that the DPC is going to undertake many local and regional initiatives. On the other hand, DPC opened the door of nominations for 10th edition of Arab Journalism Awards, which attracts large number of Arab journalists from the Middle East and North Africa.

Al Ahram, the leading Egyptian newspaper will also organize a seminar entitled "Way of news organizations to the media companies" on Monday 13 December 2010, in the presence of international and Arab experts, and a number of senior media experts. The seminar will consist of two working sessions, the first will deal with the reality and the prospects of the challenges of the digital age, while the second will tackle the development of the Arab press in the digital era.

Foreseeing the immense potential of the MMS as a medium for the ambitious young generation, Orient - ESJ will be conducting a workshop for those entering a media career. Orient - ESJ's participation in the Media and Marketing Show 2010 reflects its commitment to the upcoming generation. It also seeks to attract the expertise of the region's top media professionals to help the students of media based courses.
