Waha Land commences construction works on phase 1 of Almarkaz

The company also confirmed the appointment of System Construct as the contractor for building 90,000 square metres of light industrial buildings and Bin Hafeez General Contracting as the contractor for construction of the infrastructure works in the initial phase of the project.

The first group of industrial units is planned to be handed over by the end of the second quarter of 2011 along with the sectional completion of infrastructure works.

The Almarkaz project is divided into four phases, the first of which will occupy 1.5 square-kilometres. Phase I will feature220,000 square metres of warehouses, 285,000 square metres of light industrial units, 90,000 square metres of small light industrial units, 19,000 square metres of commercial space, and 5,000 square metres of office space.
