- PRESS RELEASE
Building on the accomplishments of its past editions, the 6th edition of the National Career Exhibition is scheduled from 7 to 10 March, 2004 at Expo Centre Sharjah.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Mohammed Salem Al Mosharrekh said, "The 6th Edition of the National Career Exhibition is the renewal of our pledge to aid and boost the Emiratisation process. Given the participation from UAE's major financial, educational and other government institutions and departments in the past editions, the show has grown remarkably, offering young nationals a complete educational and career opportunity and we are positive that it's coming editions will continue to do so."
Organised under the patronage of His Highness, Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the show has been conceived to mainly encourage nationals to work in the banking sector and other government and private sectors. The show strives to create awareness of the career opportunities available to nationals in these sectors by bringing the region's leading banks, financial institutions, educational institutions, government and private corporations together. They in turn introduce the specific training programmes and career prospects of their organisation and encourage the visiting young nationals to capitalise on them.
Sponsored by the Human Resources Development Committee in the Banking Sector, the Emirates Institute for Banking & Financial Studies and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the show has been primarily conceived to fulfil the imperative need for Emiratisation for an economically strong UAE especially in the Banking & Finance sectors. Their reputation and commitment towards the building of a strong national work-force ensures that young nationals are mobilised and interested to visit the show on a large scale.
The coming show will continue to enjoy the patronage of key organisations in the financial sector. Some of them include ABN Amro Bank N. V., Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, ANZ Grindlays Bank Limited, Arab Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade, Arab Bank Plc, Citibank, Commercial Bank International, Dubai Islamic Bank, Emirates Bank International, HSBC, Mashreq Bank, National Bank of Abu Dhabi, National Bank of Dubai, National Bank of Sharjah, National Bank of Umm Al Quwain, Standard Chartered Bank, The Commercial Bank of Dubai, United National Bank - Abu Dhabi, United Arab Bank etc.
Government organisations at the show will include the General Pension & Social Security Authority and the Administrative Development Institute.
The outstanding success of the past editions, gauged in terms of the number of visitors and the number of employment applications that each of the participants received, has spurred interest from various private and government firms, who see the event as an ideal venue to launch their human resource management programmes and source their human resource requirements. Based on this keen interest, expectations are currently high for a much larger booked floorspace for the coming edition.
The Expo Centre Sharjah, with its commitment to the Emiratisation process and equipped with state of the art facilities and services is all set to host the show.
