  • PRESS RELEASE

Ansell Healthcare , a provider of hand protective solutions for healthcare professionals, will demonstrate several innovative products at Arab Health 2011, Middle East's leading healthcare exhibition, from 24th to 27th January 2011 (Hall 2, Booth G10). A particular focus will be on the novelties in the surgical gloves ranges Encore and Gammex and the latest styles in the Micro-Touch examination gloves.

On display at the Ansell booth will be the company's best selling Micro-Touch exam glove range. To healthcare workers around the world, Micro-Touch is the preferred brand of examination gloves with state-of-the-art technology inside to assure excellent patient care and services while keeping the wearer ultra-safe. Most recent innovations are two powder-free, non-sterile examination gloves: the latex Micro-Touch Premium and the latex-free Micro-Touch Nitrile Accelerator-Free. The Micro-Touch Premium with its low AQL of 1.0 is the first examination glove awarded with the British Standards Institution's Kitemark.

Encore surgical gloves provide surgeons, OR nurses and surgical technicians a powder-free, top-quality latex solution for each category of professional use. They incorporate Ansell's proprietary inner coating supporting easier donning and double gloving. Encore gloves are produced on Ansell anatomic formers offering them high level of comfort as well as a more natural fit that reduces hand fatigue. The Encore range includes a complete product offering that supports all types of surgical needs and preferences, including specialty surgery, such as orthopaedics or microsurgery. The range also includes the powder-free synthetic neoprene surgical glove Encore Ultra. This glove is safe for latex-sensitive (Type I) and chemical-sensitive (Type IV) healthcare workers. The complete Encore range was awarded the "2010 European Surgical Gloves Product Quality Leadership Award" by Frost & Sullivan analyst firm.

Visitors of Arab Health 2011 are also invited to discover the latest innovations of the popular Gammex powder-free glove range. The Gammex PF range is aimed at healthcare facilities, which have decided to opt for powder-free glove environments and protect surgeons and patients from adverse skin reactions.

It is estimated that in the Middle-East, more than 70% of gloves used in healthcare facilities are still powdered, in comparison to many countries in Northern Europe, where their use has been almost completely banned.
