New formula for AAME Dubai show

Next year's seventh edition of Automotive Aftermarket Middle East Exhibition (AAME), Dubai's annual international trade show for automobile parts, accessories, tyres, batteries and garage equipment, will introduce a range of sophisticated B2B initiatives, in its drive to expand its reach and exceed this year's book orders of USD 5 million.

Organisers of the three-day exhibition - previously known as Autoparts Dubai Show - will launch the 'Tyre Industry Meet', a programme of pre-agreed, pre-scheduled business appointments and the 'Accessories Shoppe', an initiative aiming to attract consumers to a separate section of the exhibition for the first time in its seven-year history.

'This year we had a record 3,000 trade visitors from 51 countries, but as the Mid East automotive sector is set for a 5% growth in 2002, we expect more business deals in next year's show,' said Mohammed Falaknaz, Vice Chairman, International Expo-Consults (IEC), the exhibition's organisers.

'Our 'Tyre Industry Meet' will bring together exhibitors and buyers in a series of target-specific appointments in which manufacturers will showcase their products to the people who count the most.'

'This will inevitably lead to more business deals and is set to speed up the decision-making process,' said Falaknaz

At the same time, the show's organisers will introduce the 'Accessories Shoppe', an exclusive market place dedicated to automobile accessories business in its first-ever attempt to approach consumers directly.

The show is set to grow by 1,000 square metres to an all time high of 2,500 square metres. It will feature ten national pavilions including first-time participants Brazil and Taiwan. Turkey and Russia will also make their first official debut.

'More than 50% of the show has already been booked and, with more than seven months to go, participation interest is strong, especially from Europe and Far East,' said Falaknaz.

The exhibition will be held from April 9 to 11, 2002 at the Airport Expo Dubai.
