Cellucom opens new store and service centre in Al Ain
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, June 30 - 2003 at 11:39
- PRESS RELEASE
Cellucom, a leading distributor of mobile communication devices and accessories, opened its first store in Al Ain, bringing to residents in the garden city a wide range of sophisticated cellular phones and same-day service for problems they may have with their mobiles.
Mobile phones bought at the new Al Ain store also carry warranty that covers UAE, India and East Africa. The opening of the Al Ain Store is seen as an important step towards further strengthening Cellucom's market position in the emirates, in addition to being central to the company's delivery of essential support to dealers in the city.
"Al Ain is a good market for mobile phones and opening a store here is good business decision. We also have a network of over 40 dealers in Al Ain and having a base here means that we will now be able to provide them far better service in terms of turnaround time," said Arun Nagar, Managing Director, Cellucom.
The opening of the Al Ain Store brings to six the total number of Cellucom retail outlets in the UAE. Besides this, Cellucom - an established distribution partner for Nokia and other industry leaders - has a strong network of 220 dealers in the UAE, representing more than half the number in the country.
The introduction of its Val-U-Shop reseller network, launched in May this year, has succeeded in further strengthening its dealer network. Through Val-U-Shop, Cellucom builds a closer working relationship with dealers with its commitment to offer each member of the Cellucom priority dealer network its support for varied marketing and distribution initiatives.
More than 27 outlets from various parts of the UAE have signed up to become part of Cellucom's Val-U-Shop network in phase I of its launch. In total Cellucom is looking to have 50 dealers from the UAE as part of the Val-U-Shop network before the end of 2003. Among those already part of the franchise, are Grand Stores, which adds 10 stores to the Val-U-Shop network, Jacky's Electronics with four stores, Al Rams Trading and others.
Cellucom will be launching Val-U-Shop to dealers and retailers in the GCC in the second half of the year, with Bahrain as the first stop on its regional tour. Bahrain is also to be the venue of Cellucom's first retail store in the GCC, outside the UAE. The store is due to open shortly.
