Qatar health council to offer mobile access to locate doctors

Qatar's Supreme Council of Health (SCH), in collaboration with telecoms and IT firms, is working on a project that provides mobile users with access to information about licensed health care practitioners and facilities in the country through a handheld application, the Peninsula has reported. Users of smartphones will be able to download special software through which they can search for and locate a clinic or physician whenever needed. The new application can also be used by healthcare practitioners to check the status of their SCH licences through a mobile handset. The service is expected to be launched by June.
