Dubai 2003 Organising Committee to significantly step up activity as countdown continues to Annual Meetings

The Dubai 2003 Organising Committee has said that it will be stepping up its activity and intensifying its work to ensure the success of the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund in September.
He also told committee members that there would be a fresh advertising campaign to attract volunteers to help work for Dubai 2003 and work with the thousands of international delegates and visitors who will arrive in the UAE in September.
It was also announced that Hall Three of the Dubai World Trade Centre is to be used as the official centre for registration for official delegates, media and other participants in the Annual Meetings.
The Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund were first held in Washington DC in 1946. They are hosted by an international city one year in three. Dubai and the UAE were selected because of its highly developed transportation and logistics infrastructure, growing importance as a financial hub and its established position as an oasis of opportunity.
