- PRESS RELEASE
With a passion for creating high precision timepieces and its strong association with the sea, Officine Panerai was for the 2nd consecutive year the "Supporting Partner" of the 19th Dubai International Boat Show which took place at the Dubai International Marine Club - Mina Siyahi from March 1 to March 5, 2011.
Panerai instruments were immediately distinguished due to their exceptional characteristics exploiting a degree of technology that at the time was groundbreaking. Amongst the multitudes of ideas and instruments realized, a special range of watches was created specifically designed for use in extreme and highly risky conditions.
Milvin George, Managing Director, Officine Panerai MENA, Turkey and India takes pride in explaining that Panerai's continued association with the show is a natural extension of the brand's rich nautical heritage.
"The brand's foundations are built on its deep appreciation and understanding of the precise workings of the sea and its surrounding elements. This is very much in keeping with the spirit of the Dubai International Boat Show, in which the most influential names in the industry come together to showcase the best of their expertise in the nautical industry."
As a "Supporting Partner" of the Dubai International Boat Show, Panerai had a presence in the VIP entrance, creating a maritime atmosphere by displaying visuals of Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge. Panerai also showcased some of its latest novelties and hosted many of its VIP customers and collectors during a series of networking events that included the presence of culinary artist Giorgio Locatelli.
With a record breaking 41 premiers, including 11 World Launches and 30 Regional Premieres, the show housed more than 425 boats and yachts, reaffirming its position as one of the top five international boat shows in the world and the Middle East' number one destination for leisure marine trade.

Founded in Florence in 1860 as a watchmaker's shop, workshop and school, Officine Panerai was for many years the official supplier of precision instruments for the Italian Navy, mostly for the underwater special corps. The projects developed by the company at the time, including the Luminor and Radiomir watch - were covered by military secret until 1997, when the brand was purchased by the Richemont Group and launched on the international market.
Officine Panerai is today the only Italian fine watch making company, developing and producing its own calibres and watches - a blend of Italian history and design with Swiss craftsmanship - in its own manufacture in Neuchatel, Switzerland. Panerai watches are distributed worldwide through an exclusive network and in the Panerai boutiques in Florence, Portofino, Geneve, Madrid, Paris, Moscow, Dubai, Doha, Riyadh, Los Angeles, New York, Boca Raton, Beirut, Buenos Aires, Beijing, Hong Kong, Macau, Shanghai, Taipei and Tokyo.
