ASQ global leaders meet ASQ members in UAE

Leaders of ASQ Global—the world's largest network of quality resources and experts—recently visited United Arab Emirates (UAE) to participate in the first-ever ASQ - Dubai Quality Group joint conference held in Dubai from 12th to 14th March 2011.

The ASQ Global team also met with local ASQ members and quality professionals in UAE to share ASQ's interest in the Middle East region and UAE, in particular.

Mr. Stephen Hacker, Chair of the ASQ Global Advisory Committee was impressed and pleased to see the commitment of UAE leaders, managers and professionals in the field of quality and excellence. In his address to the members he provided details on how members can gain maximum value from ASQ knowledge centre and derive value from its 65 years of experience and best practices.

Mr. John Fowler, ASQ Global Managing Director and Dr. William Denney, ASQ member and ASQ Quality Press author listened to ASQ members and sought suggestions on how ASQ can further improve its services to local members.

ASQ is the process of establishing two Local Member Communities (LMC). One will be in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and a second will be established in Abu Dhabi for Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region. These new LMC's will achieve broader brand ownership in the UAE and provide further networking and learning opportunities to ASQ members in UAE.

Mr. Sunil Thawani, ASQ Country Counselor for UAE introduced the LMC governance committee members:
Dubai & Northern Emirates: Amitava Giri, Farookh Cooper, Nancy Nouaimeh, Aravind Ghorpade.
Abu Dhabi & Western Region: Doug Nelson, Riyaz Uddin Sajid, Mayank Mishra, Ye Xio Peng
At the end of the session Mr. Sunil Thawani recognized the Speakers with a signed copy of new edition of his book "Business Excellence Awards- Strategies for winning".
