- Bahrain: Sunday, July 13 - 2003 at 16:02
- PRESS RELEASE
DHL Bahrain is celebrating its achievement of an outstanding Bahrainisation level with the pledge to invest even further in the local labour market.
With a stupendous Bahrainisation rate of 85% covering a wide range of positions within the company's organisational structure, DHL Bahrain has one of the highest nationalization rates among the international companies based in the Kingdom, positioning itself as a prime supporter of the local workforce. In more supervisory and managerial positions, the level of Bahrainisation within the Bahrain Hub is currently at an even higher 95%.
According to Ali Sarrafzadeh, DHL Area Commercial Director, "DHL's commitment towards employing the local workforce has always been an integral part of our overall philosophy. With our Bahrainisation level, DHL has rightly attained the status of a prominent supporter of the local community and aims to further equip the local workforce with the knowledge and skills essential for their professional development."
Sarrafzadeh went on to explain how DHL's expansion strategy will further contribute towards increasing the current Bahrainisation level of the company.
"With a number of new products and services being introduced into the regional market and with the expansion of the Road Network, DHL is currently in the middle of a major recruitment drive. We are increasingly looking at the local labor market to help us meet the rising needs of the clients and we expect that this will further boost our Bahrainisation level," said Sarrafzadeh.
DHL Bahrain is also committed to investing in the youth of the kingdom and is targeting the recruitment of Bahrainis under the age of 25 for its ongoing expansion programme, with the aim of developing their skills and eventually rewarding them with specialized certificates and potential employment opportunities.
According to Nour Suliman, Country General Manager for DHL Bahrain "We have faith in the capabilities of the local people and we take pride in the fact that the positions we offer are not just low-level starting positions but cover all fields within our operations including supervisory, engineering and managerial positions" said Suliman. "Our priority is to ensure the consistent development of the youth by encouraging and financing their participation in structured training schemes, both through local institutions such as the Bahrain Training Institute (BTI) as well as international courses abroad. From our part, we make sure that their commitment and diligence are rewarded with specialised certificates and eventual employment contracts. "
