The French Connection and Mohammed Jalal & Sons

Bahrain's booming economy has been clearly emphasised in the latest figures just announced from Mohammed Jalal & Sons (MJS), the Peugeot dealer in Bahrain, in conjunction with the celebration of 'French Week' that it's Peugeot models has seen a booming increase in sales this year in comparison to last year.

Mr John Murray, General Manager of MJS Automotive Division, making the announcement said; "Emulating the world-wide success of this award winning franchise the sales in Bahrain have increased by 279 per cent in the first six months of 2003, in comparison with the same period of last year. We have had a very busy year so far, even taking into account the difficulties the region has faced. This is a true indication that Bahrain's economy is definitely on an upward spiral."

The announcement also co-incided with the visit of Mr Joel Elambart, the outgoing Peugeot After Sales Manager for the Gulf and Middle East, who was accompanied by the new Peugeot, After Sales Manager, Mr Herve Rousseeu. The visit from France this week focussed on sales and after sales strategies. MJS and Peugeot representatives also discussed the competitive prices of Peugeot products within this market.

Mr Joel Elambart praised the excellent after sales service of MJS something which is highly prized within the company. He also praised the on-going achievements and developments of Peugeot sales within the Bahrain Market, saying "Bahrain has a young population with whom this car is very popular. We are thrilled with the growth in sales which has occurred in Bahrain and feel sure that this trend will continue, thanks to the recent introduction of the new Peugeot 206, Cabriolet which is also proving very popular."

Peugeot's successful strategies has allowed it to become the number one selling car in France since it's launch in 1998, third best selling car as a whole in Europe which followed it winning the "Middle East Car of The Year " awards in Dubai 2001 firmly establishing Peugeot's reputation in the Middle East.

The automotive division of Mohammed Jalal and Sons, which was established in 1964, holds the franchise for Peugeot, Suzuki, Subaru and Jaguar. The company has a full service department and bodyshop for all brands of vehicles and a comprehensive spare parts division located in Al Khamis.
