Sharjah Museums Department appoints Sahara Communications as media consultant

The Sharjah Museums Department (SMD) has announced that it recently signed a public relations services agreement with Sahara Communications, the leading public relations and media consultancy agency. According to the agreement, Sahara will develop the public relations and corporate communications strategy for the Department while providing the highest standards of media consultancy services to meet the SMD's needs within the GCC region.

Commenting on the agreement, Mrs. Manal Ataya, Director General of the Sharjah Museums Department, said, "The Sharjah Museums Department is aware of the significant role played by corporate communications and public relations in creating the correct image for and delivering the right message on behalf of all authorities and entities. Therefore, the appointment of a professional and highly experienced PR agency has been of great importance to us. We are thrilled to cooperate with Sahara, who is not only regarded as one of the leading companies, but who also has a dedicated, highly qualified and experienced team."

"Our 18 museums play a key role in creating an informal educational environment - that fosters learning, discovery and creativity facilitated by the diversity of our collections, which covers most the arts, Islamic and Arab culture, archaeology, heritage, the sciences, aquaculture and the history of the emirate of Sharjah and the region - as well as the significant contribution made by museums in developing the emirate of Sharjah's tourism sector, we are continuously striving to develop plans and programs to help spread cultural awareness and convey the cultural message to a wider audience. Domestic tourism is a national concern that requires us to use all possible means and take all the necessary measures to support and strengthen this sector. These promotional efforts include marketing and communications activities spearheaded by public relations campaigns," she added.

Dr. Ahmed Al Samerai, President of Sahara Communications, expressed pride in cooperating with the Sharjah Museums Department, and emphasized the leading role played by the Department in leading an unprecedented transformation in terms of education, knowledge and cultural tourism in the region, "We are aware of the SMD's important role in developing the knowledge and tourism sector in the emirate of Sharjah, in particular, and in the GCC region, in general, by providing vital cultural, educational and tourism facilities.
