An overwhelming response has been received from those who have viewed the iconic projects plans, state-of-the-art animations and residential and commercial opportunities. Several interested parties have already snapped up homes on the island development.
'Many people we have met with this week have found the temptation to own a piece of The Palm to hard to resist', said Wahid Attalla, Director of Operations. 'With the lure of beautiful weather, ocean views and freehold ownership, one can easily understand why they're attracted'.
'On the residential front we have signed many deals', continued Attalla. 'Enquiries have been flooding through from the UK and various European countries including Belgium and Spain. People have been particular enthralled by the Water Homes on The Palm, Jebel Ali and the 'Dive Experience' on The Palm, Jumeirah'.
The Water Homes on The Palm, Jebel Ali are being built over the sea in a strategic pattern to form the verse from an Arabic poem written by Sheikh Mohammed. These homes will be made from concrete foundation poles and a wooden structure and are set to provide an unparalleled residential or holiday location.
The Dive Experience on The Palm, Jumeirah is set to be a divers delight and a world of discovery under the sea. Keeping with the diverse offering on The Palm, divers will have the choice of four key themed areas including 'Snorklers' Cove', 'The Lost City', 'Dives of The World' and a Spear Fishing area
The Palm will conclude their UK road show tomorrow by joining the contingent of prominent Dubai companies to support the 20th running of the Dubai International Arabian Horse Race being held in Newbury.

About The PalmThe Palm involves the creation of the world's largest two man-made islands known as The Palm, Jumeirah and The Palm, Jebel Ali. Located just off the coast of the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, the two palm tree shaped islands are expected to contribute to the city's position as a premier global tourist destination. The project will increase Dubai's shoreline by a total of 120km and create a large number of residential, leisure and entertainment opportunities, all within a unique and inspiring setting.
The creation of The Palm is an extraordinary project of grand proportions. Comprised of approximately 100 million cubic meters of rock and sand, the islands together will eventually support over 60 luxury hotels, 4000 exclusive residential beachside villas, over 5,000 shoreline apartments, marinas, water theme parks, restaurants, shopping malls, sports facilities, health spas, dive sites and cinemas.
The vision of The Palm was conceived by His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister. Construction commenced in June 2001 after many years of research and planning. Each island will take approximately two years to be completely raised from the sea. A further two to three years will be required to complete the infrastructure and the buildings. The end-result will be the creation of two virtually self-contained communities within the islands.
Issued on behalf of The Palm by Hill and Knowlton.
