Bahrain British Business Forum holds AGM and elects new committee members

Bahrain British Business Forum (BBBF) held its AGM on April 26 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, which was highlighted by the election of a new Executive Committee. Mr. Khalid Zayani, Chairman of BBBF, gave his annual report which recapped last year's record-breaking achievements.

New committee members were elected, including Mr. Nasser Al Arayedh, Chairman of Al Arayedh Group Holding, Julia Atherton-Dandy, Deputy General Manager of Hill and Knowlton, and Mr. Peter Petyt, Partner BDO Consulting.

Amongst the numerous achievements was growing the BBBF's membership to a 439 businessmen and women representing all sectors of business while the BBBF's networking functions also attracted 1,665 people - an increase of 10% and 18%, respectively.

Moving forward, Mr. Al Zayani noted that the BBBF will focus on increasing the frequency of the functions conducted by the BBBF, UK Trade and Investment missions and the BBBF's six special interest groups (SIG's) in 2011 and beyond to provide more networking opportunities for its members.

Mr. Al Zayani also stressed the BBBF will continue its efforts to increase Bahraini membership and the diversity of the group in order to build closer ties amongst Bahrain's business community, and urged all those interested in joining to contact the group directly.
