- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, April 28 - 2011 at 09:25
A $200m wind farm near the Saudi Arabian border is being considered by Abu Dhabi's Masdar, as part of a 9-year plan by the emirate to source 7% of its power from renewable sources, The National has reported. The 100mw plant would be Masdar's first venture into that form of renewable energy apart from a much smaller farm planned for Sir Bani Yas Island in the Western Region. Masdar already has two commercial-sized renewable plants in the works, Shams 1 and Nour 1, which are both 100 megawatts solar projects.
