The Dhs.25 million project with World Automotive Group - a high profile brand that has established some major alliances within the global automotive industry - will see a network of 21 "FAST TRACK" sites set up over a three year period. The first five sites will be commissioned at the end of 2003 with three in Dubai and two in Sharjah.

Explained Rashid Al Shamsi, General Manager, Emarat: "FAST TRACK" will aim to fill a much-needed niche between car agencies and the 'corner street repair shops'. While the car agencies offer high quality and reliable repair and maintenance facilities, the reputation of souk stores and garages is highly questionable.

Al Shamsi added that Emarat and World Automotive Group had undertaken an extensive and in depth study into current and future industry trends as well as assessed the requirements and expectations of motorists.

The survey revealed that 89% of motorists said that experienced and trained personnel to service their cars was important, while 82% confirmed that the assurance of genuine spare parts was a crucial consideration. 85% expressed the need for excellent customer service and 78% displayed a preference for quick delivery.

"Also, the UAE automobile sector is growing at five per cent annually which also increases the need for after-sales service and maintenance. Within such a dynamic scenario and coupled with our findings, we realized there was vast potential for maintenance and repair service that offered impeccable quality standards, authenticity, skilled personnel and absolute customer satisfaction," said Al Shamsi.

"The value proposition of the project between Emarat and WAG gives to the Fasttrack customer best price, best quality, at best location, with
resulting high levels of convenience and confidence," explained Amin Kadrie who is the Chairman of World Automotive Group.

Manned by highly-trained staff, the facilities at "FAST TRACK" will include the servicing and maintenance of brakes, suspension and steering systems, front end components, shocks and struts, air conditioning and overall tune up and servicing of the vehicle.

A state-of-the-art IT system at "FAST TRACK" will maintain all relevant data on each vehicle's repair and maintenance history. This data will be available throughout the entire
'FAST TRACK' network to ensure that customers can access data at any of the Emarat 'FAST TRACK' locations, thus providing an additional element of convenience.

Concluded Al Shamsi: "We pride ourselves on offering our customers the convenience of a host of services and facilities under one roof which include the Supermarket, Lube Express, Car Wash, Tyre Express, ATM and the 24-hour postal service. We will also be launching Shamil to offer annual vehicle testing and renewal of registration facilities at key Emarat locations. We are now proud to add "FAST TRACK" to our growing portfolio of services and facilities for our valued customers across the country."
