Creative City grants license to Melody Group to commence operations in UAE

Fujairah Media Group (FMG), a Fujairah-based broadcasting organization founded as a joint venture between the Fujairah Cultural Authority and Arab International Media Services, has announced that it has granted the license to Melody Group facilitating the latter to commence operations in FMG's Creative City media free zone.

Following the granting of license, the regionally and internationally celebrated Melody Group's "Melody Arabia", "Melody Movies", "Melody Drama" and "Melody Hits" TV channels can utilize the administrative services and other facilities of Creative City.

Creative City is especially designed to accommodate all media-related needs within a comprehensive environment encompassing all kinds of media, related technologies and training organizations, as well as support from freelance journalists. It reflects the role played by the media in social development. The free zone issues permits to companies and organizations investing in the media, management, technology, consultancy, and information systems sectors and also provides infrastructure and services for radio, TV, press, and the internet. It leverages state-of-the-art technologies to facilitate production, printing, publishing and promotion and is assisted by the Fujairah Media Group and various other highly qualified and experienced partners.

Founded in 2007 under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Cultural Authority, and enjoying the full support of Mekki Abdullah, CEO of Fujairah Media Group, Creative City provides administrative and operational facilities through its operational management offices at Fujairah Media Group's Fujairah Tower headquarters.

In one year (2010-2011) Creative City has so far issued around 1,400 permits varying from media and consultancy to informatics and technology. It is open to embrace more partnerships from all over the world.

The free media zone has attracted several investors over the past years due to its competitive prices as well as the Fujairah Media Group's emergence as a media industry leader. Creative City has proven its competitive strengths in matching media operations with current market needs.
